At Spareable, our mission is to empower communities with technology to end hunger for good. The U.K wastes over 7 million of tonnes of food every year while it is reported that over 12 million meals are given out to over 500,000 people in crisis each year. Alarming numbers that are still on the rise, while on the other hand last year over 12,000 tonnes of food was donated by well wishers for people in crisis that was redistributed into over a million food parcels with help of around 10,000 people. Our Spareable app will allow members of a community to easily spare some of their money, spare their excess food or spare their free time to volunteer with a foodbank of their choice. The Spareable platform gives foodbanks the ability to engage directly with the community allowing them to manage their stock & demand and ensure donations are of the absolute essential requirement according to their need.
