To achieve this, Spanflug efficiently connects supply and demand through a digital platform and uses AI and data to automate traditionally time-consuming workflows. The Spanflug BUY procurement solution minimizes the complexity of sourcing custom machined parts by connecting industrial buyers with thousands of machines across the EU through an automated digital platform—from instant quote to delivery. Its offer includes turned parts, milled parts, sheet-metal parts, 3D-printed parts and complete assemblies. Spanflug MAKE is a quoting and costing software solution that helps machining companies improve the accuracy and efficiency of their costing, quote generation, process planning and work preparation. This enables them to respond to customer inquiries more quickly and supports the long-term profitability of their businesses. Spanflug operates a quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2015. The company was spun out of the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2018 and is supported by UnternehmerTUM. The German Machine Tool Builders’ Association (VDW) has held a stake in Spanflug since 2020, and CERATIZIT S.A. has been a shareholder since 2024.
