The endota spa story began in 2000 when Founder and CEO Melanie Gleeson pursued a hunch that relaxation and mindfulness would become more important in peoples’ lives. This early insight and the unstoppable wellness boom has made Melanie one of our most successful female entrepreneurs and endota spa the largest day spa network and wellness provider in the country. Today the business has over 100 locations throughout Australia and employs over 1000 people; 90% of them women. The first day spa on Australia’s Mornington Peninsula, paved the way for a spa treatment to be considered a wellness priority, rather than a simple treat. The peninsula’s beautiful, natural environment was the guiding inspiration. Inspired by the Founders’ homeland, Bamboo Spa Limited is one of the first Filipino-owned and fast growing massage day spa in New Zealand. Established in October 2016, the Company pioneered its first branch in Auckland and in just less than a year its second branch in Christchurch, and the first Franchise in Onehunga opened 3 Feb 2018. Takapuna Northshore branch opened 26 Aug 2018 and Hamilton branched also opened 1 Sept 2018. Wellington branch opened on October 2020. Since then, the Company upholds being the Home of Filipino Traditional Massage, commonly known in the Philippines as Hilot. The Founders, who are two entrepreneurs and spa-enthusiasts, took the journey of introducing and promoting this ancient way of healing Hilot in New Zealand.
