Soup Sisters is a non-profit social enterprise leading a national movement of providing comfort to women, children, and youth in crisis through the making, sharing, and donating of soup since 2009. With over 14 years of experience in the non-profit sector, we have a passion for creating positive social impact and empowering communities to support those in need. Soup Sisters has an inherent belief in the power of simple solutions and the ability to adapt as needed. It's through this flexibility that we've been able to make a difference in the lives of millions. We have had the great privilege of working with Appetite by Random House to publish a trilogy of bestselling cookbooks. Our books have celebrated not just recipes, but also the anecdotes of our dedicated volunteers and esteemed celebrity chefs. The books proved to be a wellspring of both revenue and awareness, amplifying the profound purpose that stirred our efforts. Before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Soup Sisters had grown to 27 cities throughout Canada and the United States. With our dedication to delivering ‘Hugs in a Bowl’ we orchestrated the delivery of over 4 million nourishing servings of soup. This souper feat was achieved through collaborative community soup-making events, where our pots of compassion not only filled bowls but also warmed hearts in emergency shelters and social agencies nationwide. However, as the world grappled with the unforeseen challenges of 2020, our organization swiftly adapted. In the wake of the pandemic's upheaval, we courageously transformed our operational model. March of that year marked a pivotal moment as Soup Sisters evolved into Canada's first Soup Bank. This innovative shift ensured a continuous flow of soup to social agencies nationwide. Thanks to VersaCold Logistics we've sustained our operations for agencies across the nation throughout these challenging years. We continue to share the warmth and kindness in a Hug in a Bowl.
