Soundmind of Harmony (2006) is a 501 c) (3) organization whose purpose is to provide and services in the combativeness of community deterioration, interactive prevention of juvenile delinquency, reduction of school dropout rate, and prevention of child abuse by providing positive classes for teachers, and after-school mental health and sports programs for children and teens. Soundmind of Harmony seeks to provide a safe, nurturing, and predictable environment for families by providing training to school administration on how to meet the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of low soci-economic status families through the feedback of valid and reliable assessments. Soundmind of Harmony seeks to assist students and their families in developing positive and effective solutions to real life problems and assist children and adolescents to obtain mature citizenship by providing parents with Active Positive Parenting Workshops to prevent cruelty to children and to promote healthy relationships. Each class will teach family members to facilitate positive communication interaction among each other to create a strong bond. Soundmind of Harmony seeks to provide after-school programs (Sports, Character Building, Life Skills (vocational), and/or Academic tutoring) to decrease student dropout rate.
