Established in 2018. Here at Soogil Restaurant, we invite you to a traditional Korean dinner table. Where a bowl of rice is the main, pairing it with different small plates shared amongst the table. Of course, we give you a fusion version: while still holding on to the traditional aspect, our Chef, who has grown up with authentic Korean cooking, enhances the flavors with his practiced skill and knowledge in French cuisine. Our menu has no courses, made to share, and the option to dine with a bowl of rice, or to simply partake in the many choices of starch dishes is entirely up to you. So please, come and partake, experience the dinner table of Korea with us. The restaurant, Soogil, will be run and operated by Chef Soogil Lim. Born and raised in South Korea, Chef Soogil was originally majoring in Biology. His interest into culinary sparked when he went into a restaurant and saw a sign that said "Make People Happy". He then researched options into culinary education, resulting in him beginning his studies at Culinary Institute of America (aka CIA) in upstate New York. After graduation, he began training under the French cuisine, mainly, at the world renowned restaurant, Daniel. Daniel has been and still is one of the top rated amongst the fine dining restaurants in New York City, as it has three stars from the Michelin Guide and four stars from the New York Times. Through his hard work and great talents, he was able to move up the ranks into becoming the first Korean Sous Chef in the restaurant.
