Californians deserve a government that works for them and with them. One that will work to ensure opportunity and justice. We are building a California not for the few, but for all — including those who have historically been left out. We are doing the work to make our state a place for every Californian and all the diversity that makes us strong. Our state will be known as a place where everyone is respected, protected, and connected.

The National Community Action Partnership is the nonprofit, national membership organization representing the interests of the 1,100 Community Action Agencies (CAAs) across the country that annually help 17 million low-income Americans achieve economic security. Whether it's a Head Start program, Weatherization, job training, housing, social enterprise, economic development, entrepreneurship training, food bank, energy assistance, financial education, or any of the other 40+ distinct programs, CAAs work to make America a better place to live. In order to help CAAs meet ever-changing community needs, NCAP sponsors an annual convention, publishes a quarterly magazine, provides training and technical assistance opportunities, and a weekly electronic newsletter. The Partnership sponsors a national certification program for individual CAAs ("Pathways to Excellence," based on the Baldrige standards) and a rigorous training program for individual Community Action leaders ("Certified Community Action Professional," CCAP). Food For Thought is a nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving nutrition support to low-income people living with COVID-19, HIV and other serious illnesses across Sonoma County. For more than 30 years, we have engaged in service to our community to provide healthy food to our neighbors in need. A group of friends in Guerneville founded FFT in 1988 amidst the AIDS epidemic to provide groceries to our seriously ill neighbors. Over time, we have shifted our focus from providing end-of-life care to providing comprehensive nutrition services, and we have expanded our eligibility to those affected by a wide range of serious medical conditions. Food for Thought provides weekly groceries including fresh produce, whole grains, and healthy protein; vitamins and supplements and nutrition education. We deliver Sonoma county-wide to clients who are homebound or homeless.
