Sonny Software was founded in 1998 by Jonathan Ashwell, M.D. Sonny Software's first act was to acquire the rights for Bookends Plus from Westing Software. Jonathan first created Bookends for the Apple II in 1983, making it the first popular reference management program for "microcomputers". Bookends for the Mac was released in 1987.
