Established in 1989, Sonic Engineering is an electronics design consultancy offering a wide variety of expertise based on more than 30 years of experience in a wide range of professional electronic engineering environments. Sonic Engineering came into being as a result of the successful design-for-manufacture of a range of hand held ultrasonic distance measuring instruments for US start-up company, Sonin Incorporated . The highly innovative electronics design incorporates a range of sophisticated signal processing techniques implemented in a mixed signal custom ASIC closely integrated with a single chip microcontroller providing unsurpassed accuracy and a wealth of computational features. Since 1990, Sonic Engineering has designed, fabricated and maintained the electronics systems at the heart of a range of precision motion control heads for the film and video industry manufactured by A & C Limited . The technology developed for this market leading equipment includes precision digital servo systems, digital communications easy to use gyro stabilisation and an ergonomic user interface based on embedded custom hardware and firmware. Many other projects have been successfully completed for a wide range of clients. Projects may be handled from inception to production or through any of the intermediate stages. The application of a flexible integrated systems approach involving mechanical, electronics and firmware tradeoffs ensures optimal design solutions.
