Mark Swain established Solutions Zane in April 2009, with the objective of providing a consultancy service which would seek to facilitate positive planning outcomes in what seems at times be a labyrinth of statutory controls and ever increasing delays in processing times. Moreover, via an early identification of potential issues and high level of consultation, the core objective is achieving viable solutions in the most timely and cost effective manner. Having worked in Local Government in Sydney and some 6 years as the Senior Statutory Planner at Tweed Shire Council on the far north coast, Mark accumulated a total of approximately 16 years of town planning experience before moving abroad for an extensive period and expanding his management skills as an area manager for a multi-national training company. Since establishment of the consultancy, Solutions Zane has been involved in a wide range of planning projects in over 25 local government areas in NSW. Whilst receiving the bulk of work within the eastern Sydney region, the consultancy is regularly engaged in different areas of the state and is well equipped to respond having regard to the diversities of urban and regional environments. Solutions Zane works exclusively with a number of designers and can provide reliable recommendations to a wide variety of consultants including architects, engineers, heritage, environmental and traffic experts, accredited certifiers and legal practitioners. The consultancy also provides its services on a sub-contracting basis to a number of larger planning consultancy firms ensuring an ever expanding range of experience in planning matters.
