<p>Discovery Academy is a therapeutic boarding school located in the heart of Provo, Utah. Discovery serves teens ages 13-17. Our students are typically bright underachievers with emotional or behavioral problems that have resulted in struggles at home, in school, or in the community. These students may have trouble with substance abuse, behavioral problems, mood disorders, or learning difficulties. Discovery Academy is an excellent boarding school choice for teens that have failed in traditional boarding schools and/or are transitioning from other types of treatment programs, such as wilderness or intensive residential treatment programs. Discovery uses a single gender hybrid treatment model. Boys and girls have separate living and learning areas. They share some activities when their therapists feel it is clinically advantageous. Located in an urban environment, Discovery students have the opportunity to take university courses and even have part-time jobs while they are in treatment. Abundant Life Academy is a Therapeutic Christian Boarding School and Leadership Academy for troubled teens. ALA's three phase program effectively addresses the unique set of needs faced by today’s youth culture. At Abundant Life Academy, we recognize and acknowledge the impact that our current culture has on a teenager. We realize that, in today’s post-modern society, spiritual and moral absolutes are essentially non-existent in the mind of a teen. We are conscious of the fact that emotionally immature youth find comfort in the misdirected opinions of their peers while shunning the wisdom, direction, and proven life experience of their parents. We are keenly aware that the privilege of an education takes a back seat to social acceptance and immediate gratification. Our students are phenomenal leaders who are either unaware of their innate leadership gifting or who, while aware of them, have re-directed them toward negative, anti-social values.
