The Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc. was originally established by Americo Solfanelli as the Solfanelli Funeral Home in 1954. Originally located on Providence Road, the firm constructed its present facility in 1966. Over the years, the home has undergone extensive remodeling and expansion and today contains three large viewing rooms, an office area, spacious lounge, a merchandise display room including; caskets, vaults, and cremation urns, and a large parking lot. All of which allows families to make individual and personalized choices about funeral services ranging from the traditional to more contemporary choices, including; pre-planning and various other services. Frank Fiorillo along with his wife Francesca, purchased the firm from the Solfanelli family in 1985. e is a graduate of Scranton Central High School, attended the University of Scranton, and was an honors graduate of Simmons Institute of Funeral Service in Syracuse, NY. In 1991 Frank purchased the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home in West Scranton from Patrick Guido and his wife Frances. Although retired, Mr. Guido was heavily involved in the daily operations of the funeral home and continued to live in the family homestead above the funeral home. They served the community together until Mr. Guido's passing in 2013. In 2014 the name of the funeral has changed to the Guido-Fiorillo Funeral Home but the pledge to continue providing the finest funeral, cremation and pre-need services that families have come to expect from the Guido & Fiorillo families remains the same. The tradition of serving the many families of the greater Scranton Area with professionalism, dignity, and compassion continues with Frank's son Carmine. He attained his Pennsylvania State Funeral Directors license in 2010. Along with a bachelor's degree in business administration from Drexel University, Carmine is a 2009 graduate of the Simmons Institute of Funeral Service. After passing all the necessary Federal and State exams, and serving his apprenticeship under the tutelage of his father Frank. Carmine is married to the former Amy Jacobino and they have two children, Alessandro and Sofia. Frank and his wife Francesca are also the proud parents of Michael and his wife the former Rosa Manganaro, Rosanna and husband Michael Vitiello, and Joseph. They are also the proud grandparents of 6 grandchildren. Frank and Carmine are both involved in numerous professional and community organizations, groups, and committees to better serve the families of Scranton and Northeast Pennsylvania.
