Soldotna Church of Christ Information

The first service of the Soldotna church of Christ was held on February 1, 1976, with five adults and one child present. The meeting place was the old workshop of Walt Spooner, which had been remodeled by the members. In the summer of 1976 a building site of two and one-half acres was purchased east of Soldotna at Mile 91.7 on the Sterling Highway. In the fall of 1978, the basement structure was built and the congregation met there. The members began construction of the main structure in September of 1983. The building was completed in February of 1989 and an open house was held on the 14th. Attendance ranges from 75-85 people. In the summer months, tourists raise our attendance to over 100. The Kenai Peninsula is one of the most visited parts of Alaska with breath taking attractions and world-famous king salmon fishing in the Kenai River. The church is actively involved in supporting mission endeavors, both foreign and state-wide.
