SOLARPUNK cities Information

Solarpunk — an optimistic future with tangible solutions to make the world better. SOLARPUNK cities explores how the seeds of a hopeful, regenerative future are already being planted in cities around the world. Through real-world projects, emerging technologies, and inspiring urban initiatives, we show that Solarpunk is not a distant vision — it’s an emerging reality. We highlight practical Solarpunk elements shaping today’s cities: renewable energy systems, smart and sustainable mobility, green architecture, urban technologies, arts and aesthetics, preventive healthcare, and community-driven innovation. While Solarpunk values decentralization and local action, cities play a crucial role in accelerating change. Their institutional, financial, and organizational capacity makes them powerful catalysts for large-scale transformation. With UN forecasts estimating that by 2050 nearly two-thirds of the global population will live in urban areas, cities are where the future is being built. SOLARPUNK cities exists to inspire, connect, and activate people across sectors — from urban planners and innovators to creatives, policymakers, citizens, and optimists! The future can be bright, if we start building it today. Useful links: https://solarpunkcities.com/ https://solarpunkcities.com/#newsletter https://www.youtube.com/@solarpunkcities
