Sol Xorce is a development stage company that works with teammates, partners and providers to build the best solutions for our customers. The company is led by two experienced entrepreneurs: Michael Gurin is Sol Xorce's founder and CEO. He leads innovation, technology, and engineering efforts for the company. Michael has almost 25 years of experience in the thermodynamic and cleantech systems world. Michael previously founded and led RexorceThermionics LLC (now Echogen Power Systems, Inc). Based in Ohio, that company successfully developed Supercritical CO2-based turboexpanders and generator sets powered by waste heat from industrial and utility-scale sources. Previously, he founded CogniTek Management Systems, Inc., a developer of leading- edge intellectual capital ranging from rapid application development systems to nanoscale technologies for functional foods. At CogniTek, he licensed (from NASA), then developed, the Supercritical CO2 technology that drives Sol Xorce today. Michael also worked for Chrysler, Inc. as a financial analyst. He received his BS in aerospace engineering, and his MBA, from the University of Michigan. Chip Hardt is Sol Xorce's chief operating officer. He leads business development, finance, marketing, team building, and operations for the company. He has 25 years of experience in consulting, startup support, and operational management. Chip was a partner at McKinsey & Company, Inc., one of the world's leading global consulting firms. There, he led teams to support technology, industrial, and public sector clients who needed help with strategy, lean operations, purchasing, and development. Chip also led McKinsey's Chicago-based Accelerator, which helped to build and grow technology-based businesses. Before McKinsey, he was a naval officer, serving as a helicopter pilot in the Middle East and as a strategy officer at the Pentagon.
