India grows nearly 400,000 tonnes of coffee every year, across tens of thousands of small and mid-sized estates. Yet very little of it reaches the specialty cup. The gap is processing: the step where a coffee fruit becomes a green bean, ready to roast. It involves cleaning, winnowing, density separation, colour sorting, controlled fermentation and controlled drying, and it is where much of a coffee's final quality is decided. Done well, it turns a good fruit into an exceptional cup. Indian Coffee is inherently great. But processing is hard to get right when supply is this fragmented, with tens of thousands of small estates, each with slightly different coffees and practices. That makes quality difficult without the right technology and systems. The Coorg Coffee Club is a tech and science driven specialty coffee processing platform, built to solve exactly that. Our smart factory in Coorg is live, using data, science and precision to make quality processing scalable across many small and mid-sized estates. For most growers, processing remains a black box. We want to open it, and make specialty grade quality achievable at scale. But we're not just processors. Every estate has a name, a family, a landscape and a story, documented at origin and woven into the coffee itself. Every lot is fully traceable, from estate and harvest to processing and cup. Our coffees reach specialty buyers in India and globally as green beans and value added products, with a small part going directly to consumers under The Coorg Coffee Club. We're a team of growers, processors and roasters, with backgrounds across technology, startups and product. We believe this intersection can unlock something new for Indian specialty coffee, at a scale not yet achieved. We also run SoCoffee, a media platform documenting the people, ideas and coffees shaping Indian coffee. We're building the infrastructure and the stories to take more of Indian coffee to the world.
