The Society of Toxicology of Canada, formerly the Canadian Association for Research in Toxicology, was founded in 1964. Currently, our membership, broadly representing industry, government and academic institutions, is comprised of individuals whose interests range from fundamental and basic to clinical and applied toxicology, and whose academic qualifications include M.Sc., Ph.D., D.V.M. and M.D. degrees. The STC cover a variety of applications for toxicology including regulatory toxicology, Pharmtox, development of chemicals and ecotox. The Society’s scientific activities, presented in symposium fashion, have included critical discussion of numerous topics of contemporary interest. Our involvement as a founding member of the International Union of Toxicology extends our expression to the international field.
