We are the British and Irish professional body for indexing. The Society exists to promote indexing, the quality of indexes and the profession of indexing. Membership is open to any person who is or intends to be directly involved in indexing We run a distance learning programme for anyone who wishes to embark on a career as a professional indexer and a range of workshops. We offer information for publishers and other organisations on commissioning indexes and our on-line directory, Indexers Available, provides an excellent up-to-date guide to indexers currently working in a wide range of fields.
