SmartCafe is a Physical AI platform company developing SmartKitchen, a modular automated platform for food production and fulfillment from accepted order to secure handoff. Foodservice has invested heavily in technology around the transaction — POS, mobile ordering, delivery platforms, payments, loyalty, and enterprise systems. SmartCafe is addressing the next and more complex layer: automating physical execution. SmartKitchen integrates robotics, commercial cooking technology, refrigerated storage, software, AI-enabled quality assurance, order management, and secure customer handoff within a common architecture. It is designed to work with foodservice operators while preserving operator control over menus, culinary standards, approved products, branding, operating requirements, and customer experience. Unlike conventional vending systems or single-purpose food robots, SmartKitchen is being developed as a scalable platform with multiple product expressions — from compact Mobile configurations to higher-capacity Galley systems — supporting different menus, operating formats, venue types, and ultimately interconnected fleets. Applications include universities, healthcare, airports, stadiums, theme parks, institutional and corporate dining, food courts, micro-markets, QSR extensions, and other high-volume or distributed foodservice environments. SmartCafe has raised $2.2 million in capital and is preparing for its next $2–3 million financing to advance engineering, prototype development, validation, and initial operator applications.
