Its roots lie in the research conducted by its founder in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Prior to founding Intelligent Systems, the principals worked for many years doing basic and applied research in AI and other advanced technologies for the Defense Department and Intelligence Community, as well as developing emerging technologies for the telecommunications industry and commercial software development for the computer industry.
