Smart Book Lovers started in June 2009 as Book Lovers SIG of Mensa. In June 2010, we decided to become an independent organization to better serve our 1200+ members. We are now an independent non-profit organization with our own Tax ID and registration. Even though we are no longer officially affiliated with Mensa, many/ most of our members are current or former members of Mensa and several other high IQ Societies. The membership of SBL is open to anyone who has: (i) a score higher than 97.88 percentile on any standardized test for intelligence (ii) A passion for books and (iii) is legally sane.
