Being a product manager or designer in a startup can be lonely and isolating. I have experienced this myself, as have a lot of other product managers and designers I have spoken to. It is common for startups to have just one seat at the bench for these roles early on, if at all. Even if you are not alone, you may still benefit from additional support. Small Crowd connects and co-ordinates “small crowds” of three, so they can benefit from regular, intimate catchups together. The purpose? 1. To provide advice, feedback and support to one another. 2. To help stimulate good ideas, and creativity. 3. To act as surrogate team mates. To join Small Crowd you must be: • part of an early stage funded startup. • working on product and/or design, or have extensive experience inside a startup product and/or design team. • based in Auckland. The aim is for anyone who takes part in a Small Crowd to develop skills that are directly relevant to their current situation. Whether you are an experienced executive or a junior just starting out, you will be matched to ensure the startups you serve will collectively benefit from your Small Crowd’s shared learnings.
