Slow Food Uganda is part of the global Slow Food movement that believes everyone has the right to good, clean, and fair food at all times. Slow Food Uganda is a registered Non-Profit Organization that helps to build, coordinate and bring together the Slow Food Network in Uganda following four main strategic directions namely; Networking and movement building, influencing practices towards preservation of biodiversity, leveraging resources towards the promotion and defense of biodiversity as well as advocacy for better policies that lead to Good, clean and fair food for all. Slow Food works to defend biodiversity and to promote a sustainable and environmentally friendly food production and consumption system; to spread sensory education and responsible consumption; and to connect producers of quality foods with co-producers (conscious consumers) through events, Slow Food gardens projects, Ark of Taste, Earth Markets and Presidia among others.
