FlexiSolar Ltd, formerly Skyshades, were formed in 2009 and are the UK market leader in supplying lightweight, thin film, flexible solar PV solutions specifically for the commercial, industrial and farming industries. We are committed to ensuring thin-film PV is the next generation solar alternative by introducing products that address the cost factor. We are strategically committing considerable resources and brainpower, and are poised to eliminate the gap, reach grid parity and enable PV use in large-scale power generation for the first time. In addition we are the only UK solar company that bonds solar panel film with a tensile membrane to create tensile PV solar canopies. The company is owned by Inside2Outside. Inside2Outside has been successfully designing, manufacturing and installing bespoke Tensile Membrane Structures since 1991, specialising in the education sector providing all-weather school canopies, outdoor shelters and covered walkways. In a bid to add value to Inside2Outside range, Managing Director Dr Robert Carpenter investigated methods of bonding solar film to tensile membrane. This innovation led to the establishment of SKYShades UK Ltd in 2009.
