SKYideas Inc. is an independent data and AI architecture practice in Edmonton, Alberta, founded in 2000. It designs the data and ML platforms that sit under other people's models, and advises founders and leadership teams on the data, AI and cloud decisions they need to be able to defend. The practice covers dimensional data warehouses and BI, AWS and cloud architecture, ML platform and explainability work, and the control sets behind SOC 2 and ISO 27001-type programmes — across banking, fintech, government, legal services, energy and agri-tech. Its principal, Rob Kellington, has 20+ years of data-warehouse and BI architecture, seven of them owning an AWS serverless data-warehouse and scoring platform for a credit-decisioning fintech, leading a team of four to seven engineers. Recent work is applied AI: an LLM summary layer designed and guided over roughly a dozen deterministic ML models, shipped into a client's product with human review retained.
