Skills Center STL Information

The Skills Center is a first-of-its-kind training and job placement center for individuals with disabilities. We offer vocational training, soft skills training, job placement, benefits analysis, job retention support, and more. The Skills Center has secured employers with meaningful and competitive jobs for our students with disabilities. These employer partnerships have been established with local companies of whom we have agreed to train our students specifically to the company’s employment needs, their specific environment and the necessary soft skills for individuals to be successful after job placement. The Skills Center's mission is to blaze career paths for our students for high wage careers! We do this by continuously striving to resolve the complex equation that often exists between the individualized needs of our students and the individualized needs of the employers. Furthermore, the Skills Center has built-in training and support for students to understand and navigate their public benefits (e.g., Social Security, Medicaid). Participants will be involved in activities and discussion that will promote inclusion of underrepresented populations in mainstream work forces, overcoming employment training program difficulties, and establishment of community connections and business partners. The Skills Center is a subsidiary of Boone Center, Inc.
