SKBM Smart Technology Information

SKBM Smart Technology is a design-build-support smart building integrator for multifamily real estate. Founded in 2018 by Scott Keen and Bill Meyers, SKBM was built around a simple principle: the partner that helps plan a property’s technology should remain accountable for how it is implemented, integrated, and supported. We work with ownership groups, developers, general contractors, property management companies, student housing operators, and BTR/SFR portfolios across 42+ states. Our experience spans 635K+ units, 3,200+ properties, and 980+ cities. SKBM combines vendor-neutral planning, self-performed execution under our own General Contractor and Electrical Contractor licenses, and long-term support through one accountable relationship. Every engagement follows the SMART Framework: Survey, Map, Activate, Run, Train. Our solutions include managed WiFi and network infrastructure, access control, smart apartment and IoT systems, video surveillance, risk-mitigation technology, systems integration, technology consulting, site surveys, managed support, and portfolio-level visibility through the Partner Advantage Portal. We work with 27+ technology partners and recommend based on property fit, existing infrastructure, integration needs, and operating goals, not manufacturer allegiance. SKBM is a member of NMHC, RETTC, the National Apartment Association (NAA), Florida Apartment Association (FAA), Apartment Association of Greater Orlando (AAGO), and Bay Area Apartment Association (BAAA). Technology matters. Trust matters more.
