Pilling & Co is proud to have offered skilled Stockbroking and Portfolio Management Services for over a century. Our head office is named after our founder, Henry Pilling, who launched the firm in 1893.
We offer a professional and friendly service to all our clients and have also forged excellent working relationships with many Solicitors, Accountants and IFA’s.
We pioneered Personal Equity Plans (PEPs) and their replacement Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs), and defined the development of this special market nationally. Our expertise in ISAs also covers “Self-Invested” Personal Pensions (SIPPs) of which many clients have already taken full advantage. In recent years we have added Child Trust Funds (CTFs) to the menu and more recently Junior Individual Savings Accounts (JISAs) giving you the investment vehicles you need to look after all the family.
We also specialise in Investment Management and Discretionary Management services and our Investment Management team have collectively over 100 years of portfolio management experience. They have experienced a diversity of economic and monetary conditions from the Dot-com bubble of 2000 and the 2008 financial crisis, from monetary tightening and credit restricting periods to the current period of loose monetary policy and quantitative easing.
The Pilling Ideal Portfolios (PIPs) were introduced in 2001 with the aim of offering clients a bespoke portfolio made up of unit trust, OEICs and investment trusts at a lower rate than our Investment and Discretionary services.
Tideway Wealth is a division of Tideway Investment Partners LLP established in 2009 as an independently owned financial advice and investment management business.
Tideway Wealth provides bespoke managed investment accounts and planning advice to individuals, families, trusts and companies with a shared need to generate income from irreplaceable capital.
Tideway Asset Management's primary objective is to deliver secure returns ahead of inflation after all fees with limited risk of capital loss.
We focus on investments that produce reliable income, particularly hybrid capital fixed income securities and horizon investing where investments are matched in time horizon term to when they are needed to provide income withdrawals.
We prefer to invest where we can be the most certain about future outcomes rather than speculate.
We invest on a safety-first basis and have a strong aversion to permanent capital losses.
We have a dislike for volatile investments without compelling evidence of available capital appreciation.
We employ a robust research-driven investment process to identify assets with good risk-return profiles and the capacity to generate consistent income. We do our own research, including company and fund manager meetings, rather than simply relying on third party reports.
We prefer a focused list of actively managed investments with genuine diversification rather than a scattergun approach.
Tideway's services for intermediaries
Our aim is to support intermediaries with excellent products and services to enhance your advice to clients in the "At Retirement" segment of the market.
Our proposition encompasses a Final Salary Transfer Service, an Absolute Return Fund, Model Portfolios based on time horizons and specialist investment solutions that preserve capital and offer steady target returns.
