Depuis plus d’un siècle et sans cesse tourné vers l’avenir, le LNE a pour mission d’accompagner et de susciter l’innovation. Les métiers du LNE s’orientent autour de deux objectifs : la souveraineté technologique et la sécurité des citoyens. Ses travaux de recherche constituent le socle sur lequel s’appuient 5 métiers : la métrologie, les essais, l’expertise, la certification et la formation. Le LNE accompagne les industriels et soutient les pouvoirs publics pour favoriser l’émergence de nouvelles technologies. LEIA, MELODI, MATIS, CARMEN... Le LNE est doté de plusieurs plateformes multitechniques de premier plan au niveau national et international.
