The birthplace of the American cocktail was in places very much like singlebarrel, hidden away behind unmarked doors and down steep stairwells in dark basements. Notes of jazz mixed with the soft clink of glasses brimming with hand made cocktails, expertly mixed by quick fingered bartenders who knew their way around the practice of using sugar, creams, fruit juices and herbs, which were needed to make the harsh, unaged spirits available during those times palatable. Here at singlebarrel, we invite you to join us in revisiting the days of the Prohibition era, but we leave passwords and secret entrances behind, and invite one and all to sit and sip a few, but remember... speak easy...
