Solidification, Imaging & Mathematical Modelling of Materials & Processes (SIM3P) is a research group led by Dr. André Phillion at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at McMaster University. Our group is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of solidification science and material characterization, focusing on cutting-edge technologies in casting, welding, and additive manufacturing. We employ innovative 3D imaging techniques and advanced modelling approaches to explore and understand materials and their behaviors during various processing conditions. Key areas of our research include: - Solidification Science - 3D imaging and modelling of materials and processes - Microstructure and Texture Characterization - Transport Phenomena Modelling - Multi-scale and Multi-physics Modelling At SIM3P, we strive to integrate computational tools with experimental approaches, fostering a collaborative environment for tackling complex materials challenges. Join us as we explore innovative solutions that contribute to the future of materials science and engineering. Connect with us to learn about our latest research, publications, and opportunities for collaboration!
