Silverstone Paint Technology prides itself on delivering a professional and friendly service, specialising in design, paint and engineered coatings within the motorsport sector. The team have a wealth of experience working within Formula One and bring together a wide range of motorsport specific skills. Founded in late 2008, Silverstone Paint Technology has grown to become the largest paint facility within Formula 1. This season, 70% of the F1 grid is serviced by SPT. In addition to the F1 projects, SPT also worked with Cervelo and Team GB on the velodrome bikes used during the 2016 Rio Olympics. The team at SPT worked closely with Cervelo's in-house design team and Team GB's 'Secret Squirrel Club' to produce a lightweight performance driven livery, drawing on the latest F1 technology. Adhering to Team GB’s ethos of marginal gains, the team at SPT were able to contribute to the effort by exceeding the specified weight targets by over 70%. Team GB cycling went on to win 11 medals including 6 golds, during the track cycling events at Rio 2016.
