Silver Art Projects Information

Located on the 28th floor of 4 World Trade Center, our 44K square foot full-floor residency has fostered a thriving creative ecosystem at the intersection of art, commerce, and community in Lower Manhattan since 2019. Silver Art has become one of NYC's most ambitious artist residency programs, providing free studio space and career-defining professional development with leading curators, gallerists, collectors and institutions. Silver Art welcomes artists of all backgrounds—no degree required, with past residents ranging in age from 21 to 65, and emphasis on BIPOC, AAPI, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and justice-impacted communities. Each cohort is selected through a competitive, merit-based open call. Hundreds of applications are reviewed, and artists are chosen by an independent committee of industry leaders and cultural tastemakers. Past committee members have consisted of the likes of Venus Williams, Marilyn Minter, Sophia Cohen, Everette Taylor and more. Often referred to as the "YC for Artists," Silver Art's alumni have gone on to receive widespread recognition, secure gallery representation, major commissions, museum shows and acquisitions, notable press, and international recognition. To date, Silver Art has helped support over 120 artists.
