At Sigra we try to make the world a little more sustainable every day. We deliver policy advisory and project management services within energy efficiency and renewable energy – both key components for unlocking the potential of profitable investments to reach the goal of a zero-emissions world. Our focus is global, but we have particular experience from Eastern Europe, Africa, and Norway. Telling others what to do is not enough. That’s why we are investing our time and money in the most efficient climate mitigation measures we have found. Using no-cure no-pay contracting we are channeling the proceeds from our consultancy activities into energy efficiency in public infrastructure in Russia. Russia’s dynamic ESCO market offers profitable investment projects with a substantial positive environmental impact measured by emissions cut per dollar invested (10-20 times cheaper than for example large-scale solar). By focusing on curbing consumption from district heating plants fueled by coal and heavy heating oil the projects have a significant impact on black carbon emissions too.
