SHRISTI Information

Founded in 2001 by Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra and 2 others, SHRISTI stands for Society for Harmonious Renaissance of Simple Technological Initiatives. SHRISTI's mission is to provide hand holding support towards establishment of community organizations by enhancing their capabilities for resolving their problems collectively, through awareness and training in the field of agriculture, natural resource management, and liaison to make them economically stable encouraging thrift, credit and income generation activities/programmes, so that they develop approaches for improving their life and livelihood. We envision for a society free from starvation and poverty by improving life and livelihood of the poor and disadvantaged communities. We are present in 4 districts and 7 blocks of Odisha. We have worked on projects based on Sustainable Agriculture, Women Empowerment, Community Institution Building, Natural Resource Management, promotion of rural livelihoods, economic empowerment, plantation, training and capacity building, action research. For our past projects we have collaborated with Co-operative Development Foundation, NABARD, TATA Trust, Concern Worldwide, Hivus, APPI (Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiative), ICRISAT, DMF (District Mineral Fund), International Food Research Institute (IFRI), PRADAN, Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) and many more national level organizations and Government of Odisha.
