Shrike Medical is a healthcare logistics start-up built on a thesis of action and ownership: we get things done, and own what we do. Ownership means that we don’t stop where our fiscal incentives stop, we go above and beyond to guide our users through their healthcare journey. Much like a shrike, we are small, agile, and relentless in this pursuit of making a better healthcare system. We are practicing real ownership first by tackling an area rife with confusion, bad policy, and fraud, even by healthcare standards: the Home Medical Equipment (HME/DME) industry. Front line workers - case managers, PT/OTs, and nurses - are forced to spend hours a day navigating benefits and finding suppliers for their patient’s mobility, rehabilitation, and respiratory needs. We’re going to change that. How? By building a system that works for patients. We are creating a DME system in Texas to help post-acute professionals understand patient benefit requirements, while also handling the delivery of necessary DME in reasonable timeframes, not weeks or months. If we can do it right in Texas, we plan on bringing this platform to the people that need this across other regions, other stakeholder groups (payors and health systems), and finally, other supply chain areas in healthcare.
