Our purpose is to provide safe, high quality health and personal social services to the population of Ireland. Our vision is a healthier Ireland with a high quality health service valued by all.
Our Workforce
The health service is the largest employer in the state with over 110,000 whole time equivalents (WTEs) (not including home helps) employed. Over 70,000 are employed directly by the HSE with the remaining 40,000 employed
by voluntary hospitals and agencies.
Our vision for healthcare is to put people at the heart of everything we do – we are committed to delivering high quality safe healthcare to our service users, communities and the wider population. Our staff are at the core of the delivery of healthcare services, working within and across all care settings in communities, hospitals and healthcare offices.
Bluebird Care one of Irelands leading health and social care providers was set up in Ireland in 2007. We pride ourselves in providing high quality safe and effective care in the home and community, for persons of all ages with varying degrees of ability.
Bluebird Care place the customer at the heart and center of every interaction providing care and support with kindness, compassion, consideration and respect.
Bluebird Care provides direct care to customers on behalf of the HSE and other agencies in addition to providing services to customers in a private capacity. Our services enable our customers to live as independent a life as possible in the comfort of their own homes.
ALONE is a national organisation that strives to enable older people to age at home, safely and securely, for as long as they wish.
We work with all older people, including those who are lonely, isolated, frail or ill, homeless, living in poverty, or are facing other difficulties.
We provide an integrated system of Support Coordination, Practical Supports, Befriending, a variety of Phone Services, Social Prescribing, Housing with Support, and assistive technology.
We use support plans, provide a point of contact for access to health, social care, housing, transport and other arising needs using technology and other services and activities to improve physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
We have over 3,000 volunteers throughout the Country who conduct and provide practical supports to older people, visits and phone calls, linking older people into social activity and being a companion.
