Founded in 1990, Sherwood Management Group started out as a strategic sourcing consulting firm focusing on helping our clients in their procurement of complex high value added technology. We learned early that SMG's process was not limited to just technology, but was easily applied to nearly all materials, services and a wide range of assets to be acquired. Our projects focused on producing measured savings for long term financial benefit; resulting in additional margin, increased EBITDA and higher market valuation. We have produced cumulative hard dollar savings in excess of $500 million for our clients. For over a decade, we have constantly re-engineered our practice to take advantage of our expanding expertise and expressed client needs. Frequently, we had to deal with a situation where our client was severely "locked-in" with their supplier because of excellent value-added selling by that supplier. Because of our experience in neutralizing the locks in the "value-added" marketplace, it was a logical step for us to create a service for our clients to help them "lock-in" their customers on the selling side. That led SMG to develop Buying & Selling Agility (B&SA) as an enabling tool for our clients to meet their corporate objectives. In the first year of implementation, B&SA will add one to two margin points by increasing revenue and decreasing costs. B&SA is the first and only product that gives CEO's a way to insure that their senior leadership team has the tools and techniques to positively affect both BUYING and SELLING organizations. The success of B&SA relies on the simple concept of understanding how sellers and buyers are affected by the leverage present in value-added marketing.
