Shellman Scandinavia Information

Following the Shellman tradition of late Sydney-based shell artist Paul Bruce and shell artist Niels van Alphen in Amsterdam the third generation of Shellman is now based in south Sweden. In truth, Shellman is now two shell men. Father Mikael Hjärtsjö and his son Buster left careers in advertising and at Apple respectively to create high quality, one-of-a-kind mirror frames and wall as well as free standing sculptures, meticulously decorated in the treasures of sea and beach. Each work – free form or strictly patterned – is a genuine conversation piece in its own standard, following Shellmans high ambitions to live up to the mantra: good enough is not enough. Shell art by Shellman standards is a painstakingly, yet awardingly slow and detailed process that has rendered clients in the US, commission work to Sicilian palazzos and of course, Sweden.
