Based in Nottingham, SHARC Energy Systems is the first company in the UK to utilise the wastewater that is poured down our drains every day as a regenerative and sustainable source of heat energy for our buildings. Using technology developed by our Canadian partners, International Wastewater Systems (IWS), based in Vancouver BC, we have designed & developed a new method for extracting waste heat from raw sewage flows – The SEWAGE SHARC. With a number of successful installations across the state of British Columbia and North America, IWS have established the credentials of the technology and demonstrated the latent value of the heat that flows through the sewer lines every day. In the UK, SHARC Energy Systems are licensed to manufacture our unique range of products, which use raw sewage as the energy source to provide Heating, Cooling and Domestic Hot water production for a wide range of building types. Wastewater is a constant inexhaustible energy source that; 1. Contains sufficient latent heat to run the heating and cooling requirements of every industrial building in the UK. 2. Is higher in temperature than most other regenerative energy sources such as well water or geo-exchange, reaching an average temperature of over 21°C (77°F) when exiting buildings. 3. Is a stable source of renewable heat supply throughout the year The SHARC heat recovery system can be used in both the winter, for space and domestic water heating, as well as in summer for efficient operation of air conditioning systems. The business has a commitment to the environment and is building a reputation for manufacturing quality products that positively impact our environment, saving resources and unnecessary expense for heating and cooling.
