Shamsi Builders Limited (SBL) is one of the leading names in the construction industry of Pakistan. Since its roots go back to early 1900's, it is indeed a compulsion to briefly outline a historical background of the company in this introductory publication. It was in early 1900s when the seeds of the current company (SBL) were sown, with the establishment of a well-organized business of manufacturing & contracting by late Mr. S. M. Asghar. He was a man of great vision and commitment, who referred to his clients as respected friends. This philosophy of integrity, concern for quality and service to clients continue till today. The sapling of those early days is one of the few corporate ventures, which have survived and continued to flourish beyond the third generation and can rightly look forward to many more generations. Having the experience, spirit and guidance of those early beginnings, S. M. Yousuf Shamsi, continued the tradition of undertaking & completing varied kinds of projects. The organizations he led were Engineering Enterprises, Soil Teknic Ltd, Builders Combine and M/s Osica. The combined experience of these organizations and varied projects including Bulk Water Supply, Mass Housing, Subsoil Investigation, Cast-in-situ piling etc, are the foundations of Shamsi Builders. The company right from its onset, embarked upon undertaking landmark projects that include marine harbours, hospitals, schools, apartment blocks, cinema halls, commercial complexes, mass housing, factories, water supply projects, shore protection, sewerage systems and roads.
