STAND FOR THE TROOPS (SFTT) provides results-oriented treatment for American Veterans affected by TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). The foundation has established a strategic coalition of resources to facilitate emotional, behavioral and cognitive wellness for Veterans and their families. Founded by Colonel David Hackworth (America's most valor-decorated soldier) and his wife Eilhys England Hackworth this 501 (c) 3 c non-profit organization is uniquely dedicated to safeguarding the physical and emotional well-being of America’s frontline and returning troops. With more than one third of American Warriors suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and given the number of active duty and veterans that take their own lives every day, SFTT is committed to improve and deliver therapies for PTS and TBI to these Warriors that were willing to stand up for our nation. The Organization is pursuing this objective through a three pronged attack: 1. Providing research funding to investigate PTS and TBI 2. Gathering a variety of highly qualified specialists across many disciplines to evaluate the different therapies for PTS and TBI as they become available. 3. Attempt to replicate effective treatments nationwide through the Rescue Coalition and make them available to Soldiers and Veterans. While SFTT continues to research new programs to benefit our warriors suffering from these invisible war wounds, the Organization continues to support our serving soldiers and ensure they have the best available body armor and combat equipment to bring them home, alive and in one piece.
