The New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church is a connection of 443 rural, suburban and urban churches in Connecticut and New York sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout our communities and the world. PCS swimmers range in experience from our youngest beginners to high performance international athletes. We are proudly affiliated with the University of Victoria Vikes Swim Program through the University of Victoria - Pacific Coast Swimming Association (UVPCS). Our senior coaches include Ron Jacks, one of the most consistently successful high performance coaches in Canada, a member of the Canadian and BC Swimming Halls of Fame, and a three-time Olympic swimmer himself; Rod Barratt, three-time BC Age Group Coach of the Year; Mark Lancaster, experienced developmental coach and coordinator of the University of Victoria Summer Swim Camps program; Dr. Peter Vizsolyi, Head Coach of the University of Victoria swim program. The Coalition Against Violence is an alliance of community and government agencies dedicated to ending violence in our homes and communities. As an equality-seeking organization whose mandate is to address violence at its roots, we educate and advocate, increase awareness around the issues of violence, and lobby for enhanced services in the prevention and early intervention of violence. A group for change, our Coalition brings together diverse perspectives to facilitate a crucial dialogue between government and community concerning policies, strategies, and front-line responses. Our Coalition spans the Eastern Avalon region of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, and is one of ten throughout the province working in partnership with the Violence Prevention Initiative, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
