Severstal-metiz Information

Severstal-metiz is a group of business units for the manufacture of metal products (hardware) with sites in Russia, Ukraine and the UK. Severstal-metiz is a leader in Russia (about 30% of the market) and the largest exporter of metal products from Russia to Europe and the CIS (53% of total exports). The deal between Severstal-metiz and Acertec Holdings Limited for the acquisition of Carrington Wire Limited was closed on April 10, 2006, which resulted in Severstal-metiz holding 100% of the company shares. The main objective of the deal was to develop business of the two companies, exchange technology of the British enterprise with Severstal-metiz plants in Russia and Ukraine, expand the product portfolio and, consequently, improve service for European and Russian consumers.
