U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) mission is to protect human health and the environment.
EPA works to ensure that:
- Americans have clean air, land and water;
- National efforts to reduce environmental risks are based on the best available scientific information;
- Federal laws protecting human health and the environment are administered and enforced fairly, effectively and as Congress intended;
- Environmental stewardship is integral to U.S. policies concerning natural resources, human health, economic growth, energy, transportation, agriculture, industry, and international trade, and these factors are similarly considered in establishing environmental policy;
- All parts of society--communities, individuals, businesses, and state, local and tribal governments--have access to accurate information sufficient to effectively participate in managing human health and environmental risks;
- Contaminated lands and toxic sites are cleaned up by potentially responsible parties and revitalized; and
- Chemicals in the marketplace are reviewed for safety.
The agency was founded in 1970 and is headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia with ten additional regional headquarters offices (Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Denver, San Francisco, and Seattle) as well as more than a dozen laboratories, and other regional and programmatic offices.
We help homeowners and businesses make space for possibility.
Back in 1989, Brian Scudamore founded 1-800-GOT-JUNK? in Vancouver with a single used pickup truck. We created the professional junk removal category.
Across the United States, Canada, and Australia, our uniformed crews now operate approximately 150 franchise locations. We hold roughly 16 percent of the North American market because we treat junk removal as an emotional service, not just a logistical one. You feel the weight of clutter anxiety holding you back. We make junk disappear so you can focus on your next chapter.
You point to the items you want gone. Our Truck Team Members provide an on-site, no-obligation quote and handle all the heavy lifting. We route usable items and recyclables to certified downstream donation and recycling partners wherever local infrastructure allows.
Harvard Business School documented our standardized franchise model in a dedicated teaching case study (HBS Case 808-101). Move.org named us among the Best Junk Removal Companies of 2026. Verified customers on Google and Trustpilot consistently highlight our on-time arrival and transparent pricing.
Take back your space. Visit 1800gotjunk.com to book a no-obligation on-site estimate today.
