Built in 2005, Seorabeol Grand Leisure was launched as a boutique hotel with thirty-one guest rooms, a smaller restaurant and meeting area. The year after, it completed construction of Seorabeol Grand Ballroom, one of the very first and biggest event venues in the Freeport. The ballroom seats 100-500 persons and has been the home setting of weddings, birthdays and other social and corporate events. Another expansion came in 2008, when the hotel built the Annex building comprising of 22 more superior rooms, all surrounding the pool area. Since then, Seorabeol has been one of the most frequented accommodation spot in Subic Bay. What's in the Name? Seorabeol is a native Korean word which according to an etymological hypothesis, is the origin of the modern Korean language's Seoul meaning "capital city" and the name of the present capital of South Korea.
