NexGen accurately detects cancer DNA from a simple blood draw (liquid biopsy). Cancer DNA is rare, but NexGen's technology makes detection easy. NexGen takes a blood sample and replicates the DNA, like PCR, but adds a blocker to prevent normal DNA from replicating. This allows for the enrichment and easy detection of cancer DNA. Liquid biopsies can detect cancer up to 16 months before the current standard, which is radiological imaging. Early detection will lead to better treatment and saves millions of lives. NexGen's goal is to receive FDA approval for diagnosing cancer from a blood draw and is uniquely positions, compared to many competitors, to meet the FDA's guidance on in vitro diagnostic regulation.
