Diversity-Informed Security is the application of best-practice physical security principles guided by the awareness that each individual experiences - and is impacted by - security measures in a way that is distinct from others and is directly related to their own lived experience, intersectional identity, and past traumas involving private and government-provided security measures. It is the delivery of bias-free and trauma-informed security training that respects the diverse identities that make up your team. Many private security practitioners perpetuate systemic inequities in their delivery of training and conduct of assessments. We actively work to avoid that. Jonathan is not only a security expert, with over 20 years of FBI service, but is also an experienced and certified DEI leader. Some of our services include: Diversity-Informed Security Training: De-escalation Skills: This DEI-informed course will empower students by teaching them how to avoid escalating a situation, how to recognize an escalating person, and how to employ verbal and nonverbal de-escalation methods. Students will practice these skills in a safe and encouraging environment. Active Shooter [Assailant Survival Skills (A₂S₂)]: Trauma-informed instruction which equips people with best practice survival and prevention responses. Training is customized to your organization’s circumstances and risk profile and does not perpetuate biases and stereotypes that are common in the security training industry. Custom Training Available on Request Diversity-Informed Security Consulting: Security Assessment (Threat, Vulnerability & Risk Assessment): A comprehensive review of physical security, policies & procedures, and emergency plans, conducted in accordance with industry and government best practices, and in a DEI-informed manner. As such, these assessments avoid recommending measures that harm the psychological safety of some to protect the physical safety of others.
