Securing Our eCity Information

For 12 years from 2008 to 2020, The ESET Foundation d.b.a Securing our eCity focused on delivering Cybersecurity awareness, education and preparedness services to hundreds of small businesses and thousands of San Diego adults and children through community based outreach and engagement programs. As one of San Diego's first Public-Private coalition organizations focused on Cybersecurity, SOeC delivered online child safety programs through a partner network that included the San Diego Police Foundation, Girl Scouts of America, the County Office of Education, SDUSD and other community partners. Through a series of SMB focused education seminars, SOeC reached over 500 local small businesses with basic cyber awareness and security education. Additionally, the all volunteer operation delivered cyber programs to the K-12 education community, facilitated the San Diego Mayor's Cyber Cup Challenge competition and hosted an annual 1 week long intensive summer Boot Camp for Middle and High School students pursuing a career in Cyber beyond their prep school experiences. And finally SOeC conducted education programs for seniors and military families in the San Diego community, effectively touching every aspect of the San Diego region's diverse population. In its 12 years of operation, SOeC and its programs reached more than 20,000 individuals, businesses and community entities, delivering cyber security awareness, education and preparedness best practices. We couldn't do this alone and want to thank and recognize other key corporate and community partners such as SDG&E, General Atomics, UCSD, National University and all the others who helped us along the way. As of November 30, 2020 we closed down our SOeC program operations in an effort to refocus our efforts in a new direction and are grateful for everyone who was a part of our journey from the outset.
