Secugen is a company specialized in Automatic DNA Sequencing and Genetic Diagnostic services applied to any field in the area of life sciences. We develops different activities: * Automatic DNA Sequencing Service: We offers our customers the most advance technologies in the sequencing and DNA genotyping field and also gives technical assistance and monitoring to inexperienced customers willing to introduce these technologies in their fields of expertise. Today, we provide our services to more than 800 customers including Universities, Research Centres, Hospitals and Companies. * Genetic Diagnostic of Rares Diseases: Nowadays, the analysis of the DNA is part of the studies included in the characterization of numerous pathologies as Alzheimer, Dementias, Dravet Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis, AMD, aHUS, ALS, Huntington Chorea. We work with many physicians over 150 hospitals and health centers. * R & D: We develop research projects financed with own funds or grants from public agencies on a competitive basis. We perform these activities in our daily work, from improving and optimizing processes to the development of specific developments in major diseases such as macular degeneration associated with age or rare diseases such as atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome, or encephalopathy of childhood. In this sense we are making a special effort to transfer diagnostic platforms that are based on PCR and capillary sequencing to NGS technologies.
